American Leak Detection Promotes Link between Entrepreneurship and Job Creation

This National Entrepreneurship Week, company highlights benefits of franchising

Palm Springs, CA (Grassroots Newswire) - Across the country, the debate continues about what can be done to solve the nation's economic crisis. But despite differing opinions, one thing remains clear: there's a distinct link between entrepreneurship and job creation.

With that in mind, the country will recognize National Entrepreneurship Week, which takes place from February 20th to 27th. The campaign is designed to highlight the benefits of entrepreneurship, as well as the many forms it can take.

"The American dream is based on the concept of entrepreneurship, and one particular system - franchising - takes the guesswork out of making that dream a reality," said Stan Berenbaum, president of American Leak Detection. "The ability to rely on a proven system with built-in market demand provides confidence and a competitive edge."

Berenbaum goes on to reference a national survey conducted by The Kauffman Foundation, known as the world's largest foundation dedicated to entrepreneurship, in which 79 percent of respondents said that entrepreneurs are critically important to job creation. The findings also indicated that entrepreneurship is gaining recognition as more important than the stimulus package in creating long-term economic stability.

"The interest in franchise opportunities is growing rapidly as people acknowledge the power of combining business ownership with an established and well-recognized brand," said Berenbaum. "For example, many of the people our American Leak Detection franchisees interact with on a daily basis, such as insurance adjusters and restoration companies, are already familiar with our company and our reputation."

Established in 1974 and headquartered in Palm Springs, Calif., American Leak Detection uses accurate, non-destructive detection to identify all types of leaks including hidden water, sewer, and gas leaks. The company currently has 100 franchises in operation across the U.S. as well as 11 additional franchises in six other countries. It has been ranked in the 25 top performing franchise systems by the Wall Street Journal. For the ninth straight year, Entrepreneur® Magazine ranked American Leak Detection No. 1 in its category in its 30th Annual Franchise 500. Entrepreneur® Magazine researches and analyzes hundreds of franchise companies to determine the best in specific industry categories. Companies are judged on many factors including financial strength, stability, growth rate, number of years in business, with an independent CPA review of financial data.

Berenbaum notes that no prior experience is necessary to start an American Leak Detection franchise, as the company provides aspiring owners with all needed training and equipment. Franchisees are also offered the support of a comprehensive marketing program that includes turn-key direct mail programs, a public relations initiative and a state-of-the-art website complete with lead generation.

"We have laid the ground work and make it very attractive for franchisees to come in, benefit from what we have already created, and start their own, functional business," said Berenbaum. "We feel confident that we are doing our part to foster business ownership and improve the American economy."
